B-25 Mitchell Bomber Airplane Desk
Even the most prolific jetsetter needs to land every once in a while to recharge his body, devices and get some work done. Luckily, the B-25 Mitchell Bomber Airplane Desk allows aviation and history buffs to take a piece of the sky with them. This limited edition desk from MotoArt combines functional art and rich history to create what might be the ultimate piece of office furniture. Widely used in WWII and launched off aircraft carriers in the Pacific Ocean, the Mitchell Bomber was a small twin-engine aircraft loaded with a .50 caliber machine gun. For the desk, the aluminum frame of the wing (once covered in cloth) is exposed and covered with ½” tempered glass to reveal the inner mechanics of this apt fighter. Each piece takes 120 man hours to create, including 12 hours of buffing to deliver a stunning finish. Half-inch wooden legs are then affixed and stained. You can pretend you don’t want this all you want, but we both know you’d be lying to yourself.
